The Ensemble MIGDAL
The Ensemble MIGDAL was initially established by Laurențiu Ganea for performances of his composition שיר השירים
Song of Songs and bring together few of best performers - soprano, tenor, flute, clarinet, bassoon, harp and three percussionists. Even most of the members successfully performed few chapters of this composition in November 2015, the most important performance was the world premiere of the composition in 2021 in the famous International Theatre Festival Sibiu (FITS), being one of the most watched events online of the festival.
The next performance took successfully place in Bucharest in May 2022 at 'Titulescu European Foundation' (FET). The live streaming broadcasted event was watched on all continents and appreciated by both top scholars, authors, musicologists and public, music lovers.
Other important project of MIGDAL was the recording in premiere of Laurențiu Ganea' s composition Πέντε λυρικὰ καὶ μυστικὰ ποιήματα / Five Lyrical and Mystical Poems for soprano, harp and three percussionists in 2022.
The next event of the MIGDAL ENSEMBLE will be the performance of 'Love and Sacred' project at National Opera House Bucharest on October 9th, 2023.
The event is realized in partnership with this world-renowned cultural institution and it includes three works based on ancient influences, as follows:
- 'DOINA' for solo wind instrument (composed in 2007), based on Thracian tradition;
- Πέντε λυρικὰ καὶ μυστικὰ ποιήματα / Five Lyrical and Mystical Poems on several texts in old Greek - poems by Sappho (work for soprano, harp and three percussionists composed between 2021-2022);
- שיר השירים / SONG OF SONGS, the first-ever composition using entirely biblical texts in Hebrew (for soprano, tenor, flute, clarinet, bassoon, harp and three percussionists with conductor; composed between 2009-2021).
